Photograph of the Week #233 – Anthropoda (insects, spiders, etc)
Many of our members love their ‘insects’, so this week’s challenge is all about them. The are so many ways to showcase them:
- Insect portraits – Focusing completely on the head, compound eyes and antennae,
- Action – Capturing the bee pollinating a flower or a spider spinning its web,
- Camouflage – How about those insects that blend into the background (leaves, sticks, bark, etc),
- Life Cycle – Stages of the insects life cycle.
Here an interesting tip: Shoot just before sunrise as the dew on the insect’s wings slow them down and gives you great lighting.

What is it?
Photograph of the Week (POW) is a weekly challenge to get your creativity flowing and your shutters clicking.
How does it work?
Each week a new topic will be posted and you will take a photograph of something that interprets that topic for you and post it on our Facebook page during that week. It can be a literal interpretation or something more abstract. How you go about doing this is totally up to you, you can head outside or stay home, there are no rules. The one thing I do ask is that the picture(s) you post is either taken or edited in that week, remember this is meant to keep your creative juices flowing.
