Our Club Digital Competition is coming up soon. One of the categories is Still Life, including Close-up and Macro, so this week’s challenge will focus on that to get your creative juices flowing and your entries submitted. 

Still Life photography is the artistic, deliberate arrangement and capture of inanimate, everyday objects such as food, products, fruit, flowers, vases, tools, etc. Close-up and macro photographs takes that a bit further, capturing small subjects at high magnification to reveal intricate and hidden details. Lighting will be crucial for setting the mood. Composition is also important to create balance and guiding the viewers eye.

What is it?

Photograph of the Week (POW) is a weekly challenge to get your creativity flowing and your shutters clicking. 

How does it work?

Each week a new topic will be posted  and you will take a photograph of something that interprets that topic for you and post it on our Facebook page during that week. It can be a literal interpretation or something more abstract. How you go about doing this is totally up to you, you can head outside or stay home, there are no rules. The one thing I do ask is that the picture(s) you post is either taken or edited in that week, remember this is meant to keep your creative juices flowing.
