Outing – Jack Point – Wildflowers
This outing will take us to Jack Point to photograph wild flowers and sandstone sculptured bluffs.
Jack Point park is a 32 acre park by the Duke Point Ferry terminal, it provides access to pristine beaches with excellent views of Nanaimo River estuary, downtown Nanaimo, Protection Island and Gabriola Island. It is a trail leading through the natural and undeveloped landscape, which is mostly chips but there are some stairs and boardwalks over the bluffs.
Lynda Stevens our club member and expert on wildflowers will be leading this outing and point out the different locations to find the flowers.
There is parking at end of Jackson Rd, 655 Jackson Rd, with a pedestrian tunnel leading to the park.
We will meet in the parking lot at 10:00AM which will give us time to photograph the wildflowers and catch the sand sculptured bluffs at low tide.
Date: Saturday, May 2
Time: 10:00AM
Places: Meet at the parking lot at 655 Jackson Rd.
As you wander through the park please remember that we are looking for pictures for the BC-Yukon Groups 1st Celebration of BC Photography which due on May 10th.
