Outing – Coastal Black Tulip Festival
May 3 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

During this outing we will venture to the Coastal Black Winery for their annual Tulip Festival. We will meet there at 10:00am when they open in the hope that it won’t be as busy.
From the Coastal Black Tulip Fest website:
‘Immerse yourself in a picturesque landscape filled with meticulously arranged tulip fields in a rainbow of colours. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, our tulip festival provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and inspiring day.
The best time to see the most amount of flowers in bloom is the ent of April and beginning of May. This can be busy.
We have so many festivities for all ages to enjoy. List the Springtime baby including our ALL NEW Micro Highland Calf.
Our stone oven pizza is back and available Thursday to Sunday during the Tulip Fest. We will have our Patio open with glasses of wine and cider available for purchase. Plus a selection of sweet treats and other beverages.
Bring your camera to capture unforgettable moments amidst the tulips and all the fun swings and bicycle photo ops we have including our giant bubbles you can make. Tulips will be available for purchase along with Coastal Blacks Wine/Cider and Big D’s Bees honey at our exit.
Reminder: There are no dogs or pets allowed at the Tulip Fest. We encourage you to buy tickets on line and save $2.00, but you can also buy them at the gate. There are no refunds on tickets.’
Recommended gear is a wide angle lens to capture the fields and a macro lens for close-ups of the flowers. The event will be crowded so be aware if you’re going to bring a tripod.
They do not offer group rates, members are responsible for purchasing their own tickets. Ticket are $17 / adult or $15 / senior, if you purchase the tickets on line you get a $2.00 discount.
Please RSVP using our on-line form. Car pooling may be an option, we would meet at the Chapters parking lot at 8:30am to allow for a 8:45am departure. Travel time is estimated to be 1 hour and 15 minutes.
