BC-Y Speakers Series Presents – AI in Photography and Image-making with Sheldon Boles
October 18 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The BC Yukon speakers series presents Artificial Intelligence in Photography and Image-making.
Sheldon Boles the CAPA Director of Competitions will be speaking about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in photography and image making, and what is allowed for CAPA and the North Shore Challenge 2025 competitions. This is an excellent opportunity for all photographers to learn the latest about this aspect of creating images for competition.
There will be a panel discussion exploring creating and entering images in photo competitions, and what it takes to win, from three different perspectives … individual entrants, clubs that submit images, and judges who decide the winners.
Sheldon has been the Director of Competitions for CAPA for eight years and in this role he manages and oversees all of CAPA’s national members competitions. He has been looking into and discussing AI technology since before 1992 when his first paper, “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police”, was published. In the years since the his first article on the subject he has gained a lot of experience in information technology, particularly in areas of computer programming, research analysis, computer simulations, test new initiatives, and managing a province-wide technical support section.
