Linley Valley Park is a 145-acre green space in north Nanaimo, with Cottle Lake in the middle. There are three main entrances at, Rock City Rd, Burma Rd and Linley Rd. The Rock City Rd entrance is the closest to our meeting location but the walk from Burma Rd is an easy walk and should take about 20 minutes, the walk from Linley Rd will take about 45 minutes and is a little rougher. 

Our outing will start at the grassy field at the top of the lake where the trails from all three entrances converge. 

The outing will start at the top of the lake, near the Rock City entrance at 10:30 and we will decide where to walk from there, there are several options depending on what the group wants to see. 

Trails are well maintained and a fairly easy walk although good walking shoes are recommended as some areas can be slippery if wet. 

Camera requirements are fairly open depending on what you are planning on photographing, there are usually ducks in the lake and other birds. There are creeks and forested areas but with our warm weather I am not sure how much flowing water we will find.
