CAPA – Black & White Competition – Due Date
This competition is for traditional black & white images only, a black & white images ranges from very dark grey (black) to a very light gray (white) with varying shades (darker) and tints (light) of the grayscale.
All eligible images must be deemed as a black and white image based on the definition above.
Images submitted into the competition may be staged or candid.
There are four themes for this competition:
Architecture – human-made structure (mobile, free-standing, or outdoor).
Dilapidated – abandoned buildings, ships, aircraft, boats, ships, trains and vehicles.
Landscape – subject Sucha as weather phenomena, geological formation, cityscape, etc.
Person(s)– traditional or casual portrait that can incorporate the environment of that person.
For a full definition of each theme and rules for this competition can be found on the CAPA website, it is the photographers responsibility to ensure that the images they are submitting meets the CAPA criteria.
Images must be sized to a maximum horizontal size of 1400 pixels and a maximum vertical size of 1050 pixels and be no larger that 1.8 MB.
Image Titles – The file name must include the photographers name and images title, with no symbols such as /-_, or quotation marks. An example of a correctly named images is Joe Smith The Urban Network.
As a CAPA club member we are entitled to submit 6 images, from 6 different photographers, to this competition, all images submitted to David, our External Competitions Chair, will be adjudicated and best images will be submitted on behalf of our club. You will be notified if your image is selected to be submitted to CAPA.
