The audio visual (AV) competition submission may consist of a multimedia presentation composed of photography, video, time lapse, music and narration, text or combination thereof. 

The emphasis of the presentation will be the blending of these components into a cohesive story line. The transition between the images should flow harmoniously with the appropriate colour or tone complementing the select theme and images. 

This is an open theme therefore presentations submitted to this competition may contain a wide range of topics and subjects such as, but not limited to: abstract, altered reality, aircraft, cityscape, flowers, landscapes, machinery, nature, people, plants, seascape, still-life, tools, vessels, wildlife, a memorable event, travelogue of a recent trip or holiday, interviewing an interesting individual or presenting a topic of interest.

For a full definition of each theme and the rules for this competition can be found on the CAPA website, it is the photographer’s responsibility to ensure that the images they are submitting meet the CAPA criteria. 

Specifications:

AV presentation submission:

• must not exceed 7 minutes
• filename must ONLY be named as – NAME OF PRESENTATION – Do not include the name of the photographer in the filename
• file can be saved in MP4, MPEG-4, MOV, MPEG, AVI and WMV formats
• can contain video and/or Timelapse or a succession of still images in rapid movement that produce a mining picture but must NOT exceed more that 20% of the total runtime of the presentation.
• show must have been produced, edited and photographed by the maker
• no identifiable marks should appear on the show, such as name or any other information that identifies the maker; 

As a CAPA Club member we are entitled to submit 1 AV presentation, all presentations submitted to our External Competition Chair will be adjudicated, and the best one will be submitted on behalf of the club. You will be notified if your presentation is selected as one of the club’s submissions. 

Note: CAPA has updated its Eligibility Criteria to include information about artificial intelligence (AI), which will not be accepted in any of the competitions. The full criteria can be found on the CAPA website – Competitions – CAPA’s Eligibility Criteria.
