CAPA – Artistic – Due Date

For the purpose of this competition, artistic photography is created in accordance with the creative vision of the artist as a photographer, using photography as a medium to bring something to life that arises from the artist’s mind.
CAPA defines artistic as “an image produced with the intention to portray a creative vision based primarily on an aesthetic and emotional thrust”.
For the purposes of balancing out the judging for this competition, you are asked to submit your images into one or more of the following themes:
- Abstract – does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of reality and where colour and form makes up the subject of the images rather than it representing tangible objects or people. Examples are – bokeh, double exposure, blurred image, intention camera movements, panning, patterns, light painting, lines, macro image, oil & water, high-speed water drops, shapes, simplicity, spinning, smoke, texture, etc…
- Altered Reality – Using real-world environment and elements to create a realistic or unrealistic fictional image. Ideally, the intention is to create an image that conveys a message or tells a story.
- Creative – conveys a mood, a feeling, a beautiful arrangement of elements; they could be expressive and can be aesthetically pleasing or promotes an emotional response to shapes lines and colours. Image should go beyond a pictorial rendering of a scene.
- Smartphone/tablet – image(s) captured on a smartphone/tablet and have significant artistic changes to the images using one or more mobile device applications or other post processing application. External lens attached to a smartphone or tablet are permitted.

Prior to submitting any photo in a CAPA competition, read the CAPA Eligibility relating to image submissions. – READ ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA HERE.
Submissions must be in the .jpg or .jpeg format, with a maximum file size of 1.8 MB and sized as follows:
Landscape – 1400 pixels horizontally
Portrait – 1050 pixels verbally
Square – 1050 pixels on all size

As a club HCPC is only able to submit 6 images to CAPA for this competition, therefore all images submitted will be juried and the top 6 images will be submitted.
