A Year With My Camera
A Year With My Camera is a free online course offered by British photographer Emma Davies. This course is designed for beginners who want to get off the automatic settings on their camera but can also be taken by anyone at any level who would like a good review. The participants in this Special Interest Group register for this course and participate with each other in face to face meetings (biweekly) at the Nanaimo North Library and online in a private facebook page that is setup for the HCPC participants.

We have been given the Board Room at the Nanaimo North Library to use as a meeting place. This room holds up to 18 and has a large TV monitor. We tried to get the same day in the second week of each month but these were the only days available to us.
The meeting dates are :
OCTOBER 10TH 6-7:45
NOVEMBER 21ST. 6-7:45
DECEMBER 19TH. 6-7:45
JANUARY 16TH. 6-7:45
FEBRUARY 13TH. 6-7:45
MARCH 13TH. 6-7:45
APRIL 10TH. 6-7:45
The initial meeting will start off with a tutorial after which we will get to know a bit more about each other and where we are on our Black and White journey. We will then discuss some parameters for photo taking over the next month.
The meeting format we have planned is to begin each meeting with a tutorial lasting about 1/2 an hour. The remainder of the time will be spent looking at the images that group members have taken during the last month. Group members will be asked to submit 1 or 2 images to Don so we can look at them on the TV and the person who took the image will have a chance to talk about their image and say what they liked about the image or something they learned while taking it.
